STEP 8: engrave with Lightburn software

1. Open the Lightburn software, choose the right COM number from the tab shown in (1) to connect to the machine.

2. Click on the Home button shown in (2) to home the machine at the beginning.

3. Control the movement of the machine through the “Move” window shown in (3). This window helps the user to manually move the laser head, and “set origin” to determine the place of the starting point before engraving process.

4. The user can design his own shape by using the tools shown in (4).

5. After preparing the design you want, you should define each shape by a color layer shown in (5). In order to specify different parameters for each shape.

6. The parameters of each layer can be adjusted through the “Cuts/layers” window shown in (6). The parameters that can be adjusted are as follow:

- Speed : To control the engraving speed.

- Power max (%): To control the laser power.

- Pass count: To control the number of operations.

Each layer can have three different modes, Line mode: for cutting process. Fill mode: for engraving shapes process. Image mode: for engraving pictures process.

7. After finalizing the parameters, select the design you want to engrave, then click on Frame shown in (2) before starting to check the size of the engraving area.
