Hardware setup

STEP 8: Connect the cables to MKS dlc32 controller

The MKS DLC32 controller shown in (1) will be used to control the CNC laser machine operation, the following steps will be done to setup the controller in order to run the machine and test it. 

1. Connect TMC2209 motor driver shown in (2) to the pluggable pins shown in (2.1), connection is shown in (2.2).

2. Connect laser head cable shown in (3) to the pluggable pin shown in (3.1), connection is shown in (3.2).

(Note: Please make sure to properly connect the laser cable so that:  

                                                       (RED wire is Vin, Black wire is Ground, Yellow wire is Signal)

3. Connect stepper motors cables shown in (4) to the pluggable pins for X,Y,Z axes shown in (4.1), connection is shown in (4.2).

4. Connect the touch screen cables shown in (5) to the pluggable pins shown in (5.1), connection is shown in (5.2).

5. Connect the limit switches cables shown in (6), to the pluggable pins shown in (6.1), connection is shown in (6.2).

(Note: The limit switches are used to protect the laser head from escaping from the engraving area for safety purposes)

6. Connect a switch shown in (7) to the external power switch slot shown in (7.1), connection is shown in (7.2). 

(Note: The switch is used to turn on/off the controller instead of unplug/replug the power cable)
